2017 Charbono

Most people have never heard of Charbono. It was very popular 50-75 years ago in the Napa region. But, today is only grown in limited quantities. Other parts of the world mainly blend with Charbono, and California is the only place the produces it on its own and under this name. It is called Bonarda in other parts of the world. 

It is a deep, dark wine, with hints of blueberries, licorice, and earth. Higher tannins and acidity lead it to be a good wine to pair with food or lay down a few years. It has great aging potential.
